![]() I called back in after I received an email it took me over an hour to get through to someone again this time and get it removed again unbelievable worst experience ever. ![]() They put/allowed a fraud alert on my account in less than 24 hrs after I removed it. They transfer you over and over to different departments and you can't understand what they say. They will allow a negative item to keep keep reporting as an active account after it's been charged off and allows your balance to keep increasing after 4 years! The account doesn't even belong to me! Their customer service is terrible. I don't know how they are allowed to treat us like they do. This company should have been put out of business long ago and the fact that they're allowed to continue and have custody of everyone's credit information is a travesty and a reality check of where we are as a society and how useless government at every level is otherwise they would have been brought to heel by a government advocacy body years ago. ![]() Hardly anyone was a native English speaker either so constantly asking someone to repeat what they'd said. This fifth person even confirmed that I had the right address but he said TransUnion automatically takes you to the pay site where they ask for a credit card. Called again and was told that I had accessed the wrong site (the paying version of the account) when meanwhile I'd gone to the exact site address I'd been given by three people. Tried creating the account but got an error message after I'd entered all the info. Fifth person told me I had to go online and create a free account with them in order to submit documents to change my incorrect address on file. Would either get the wrong department or the US number when I needed the Cdn number. You can also comment on our MeWe page by joining the MeWe social network.2.5 hours on the phone with these people (6 different people as I kept being given a different phone number to call that would allegedly solve my problem) and zero resolution. Perhaps it’s time to overhaul the credit system or hire better computer security personnel. JDSupraĪll three major credit bureaus pass judgment on the creditworthiness of millions of Americans every day, yet they cannot keep the data of those Americans secure. Thus, currently, very little is known about the breach or its causes. However, the information provided on the state’s “Data Breach Notification Report” page is limited and TransUnion has yet to post notice of the breach on its website. The available information regarding the TransUnion breach comes from the company’s filing with the Attorney General of Massachusetts. It is still unclear how many actual persons were affected by the breach. Those actions include how to protect from identity theft and fraud. TransUnion has sent out data breach letters to the affected parties and has informed the parties as to what actions they can take. Those files contained names, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, and driver’s license numbers. The report stated that unauthorized access was made to the company’s over 200 million files. According to JDSupra, on November 7, 2022, TransUnion reported the data breach to the Attorney General in Massachusetts. Now, TransUnion is seeing its turn with a data breach. While both companies extended free credit monitoring to affected users, that’s hardly worth the problems the breaches caused. There are three credit bureaus in the United States, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.Įxperian and Equifax have suffered massive data breaches, hurting millions across the United States. But lately, these companies have been the ones that need to be policed and held accountable for their lack of security.
